AfdelingWithin the PACCAR Inc. DAF engine development is the centre of competence for engine development. In our state-of-art engine development centre we develop engine families for the future regulations. Our engines and trucks are best of class products in the transportation world being always driven by providing environmentally friendly products with best cost-effectiveness and highest reliability for our customers.
The department Engine Hardware & Design is responsible for the development of new engine concepts and maintaining the in-production engine families. The department is split into 4 groups: CAE; Injection & Turbo; Base engine; Engine Auxiliaries.
For the last group we have an open position for a trainee.FunctieomschrijvingThe trainee will contribute as a full member of the department (with the required assistance) who has a variety of responsibilities:
• Technical level: In cooperation with designers and suppliers you develop new or adapt exiting engine components and systems. Your focus is functionality, function integration, quality & robustness, manufacturability, product costs. You initiate the proof of concept
and validation program and defining this together with suppliers, the CAE- and engine test department. You analyse results and make detailed technical proposals for the next steps. Assuring functional, technical synergy over the projects;
Involvement in PPAP and supplier sign-off.
System and component benchmark including actively searching for new technologies is an essential part of the job.
• Project level: Making financial forecasts based on project timing plans and project content and negotiate these with the supplier. Monitoring and reporting project progress. Timely proto and production release;
